Costs

What does it cost?

As per rules set by the United Grand Lodge of England, becoming a member at Eldon Lodge comes with some costs, but not as many as you may think.

These costs include a one-time joining fee of approximately £82, and an annual subscription fee of £120, which is paid starting from October. However, if you join the Lodge mid-year, your subscription fee will be pro-rated.

The annual subscription fee is fully inclusive of the cost of dining after Lodge meetings, which is typically a three-course meal followed by a cheese board and tea/coffee. You will also have access to an affordable and well stocked bar. If you invite Masonic guests, you will be responsible for paying their dining fee which is just £10.

The Lodge also has a dress code which requests members to wear a dark lounge suit, white collar shirt, black tie, and black shoes. And while certain regalia items may be required, they can often be purchased at a low cost or second-hand.

Lastly, Lodges sometimes hold special events to raise money for charity, and while members are encouraged to participate and donate, they are never pressured to do so if they are unable or prefer not to.
