Lodge meal at Bottelino's, Portishead
A big thank you to everyone who came along to the informal meal arranged at Portishead's Bottelino's restaurant earlier this month. It was a lovely evening and great to spend time having a nice meal with fellow masons and their partners before the season gets under way next month. It was also a pleasure to meet our new candidate for the coming year!

Eldon Lodge Summer BBQ (26th July 2014)
Our inaugural summer BBQ went ahead last weekend and was well supported by a good number of Eldon brethren and their ladies. The sun shone, the barbecue sizzled, the beer was cold and a good time was had by all. Thank you to all involved with organising it and to everyone who was able to attend.
History preserved for future generations of Freemasons
When we sadly had to leave our home in Portishead several years back, we were faced with the dilemma of where to store the large amount of furniture, memorabilia and paraphernalia that a masonic lodge accrues over 136 years of history. Whilst we were able to take some with us over to our current place of meeting in Clevedon, a lot had to go into storage. After a number of years gathering dust and with the help of Bro Norman Pimm we now have 2 new finely constructed display cabinets for some of Eldon's fascinating collection of Masonic bling! The lodge wishes to place on record it's sincere thanks for his efforts and it's good to see years of practicing Masonry (albeit speculative) has not dulled his carpentry skills!
Ladies Night 2014: Walton Park Hotel Clevedon
A big thank you to everyone who supported the Eldon Ladies Night at Walton Park Hotel in Clevedon. Eldon Lodge members, their families and guests numbered 96 on the night and a fantastic time was had by all. Here are a few photos of the festivities:
Eldon Lodge bids farewell to W. Bro Keith Hearn
W. Brother Keith Hearn who served as organist for Eldon Lodge for many years has decided that now would be a good time to sell up and move home to be a bit closer to family down in Dorset. We'd like to place on record our thanks for his service to the lodge as organist and for his support over the years. We wish him all the best in his new home and hope he stays in touch now that he's mastered his new iPad!

Eldon Lodge Embraces Social Media
Last year, Eldon members voted to set-up a Twitter account for the lodge as a way of promoting the Lodge and freemasonry in general. So far it's been a useful way of engaging with both mason's and non-masons alike and many other Lodges around the country are now following suit!
